“Talent is only the starting point.”

— Irving Berlin

Being open to article pitches and organising events around universities and high schools means that we have a unique opportunity to develop the writing skills and experiences of many students and young people interested in a variety of careers.

Writing comment articles gives you useful communication skills you might not be aware of. These include:

  • Persuasiveness – expressing your opinions in an engaging way
  • Clarity – conveying information in an easy-to-understand way
  • Detail – an eye for the smallest mistake is useful in any career

Start writing for us and you’ll hopefully develop some of these skills while being published on a growing and known website. We also work with a number of organisations and university societies to achieve our goals – watch this space for more developments.

Useful IR resources

  • First 3.0 -  The most thorough website we’ve seen so far.
  • WikiPedia’s page on IR - As always, the most accessible knowledge resource.
  • The Online Books Page - Here are entered theoretical works on the relations among the nations of the world.
  • Discover Military – An in-depth look at all of the World’s military forces – incredibly detailed and informative.

Upcoming events

  • Writing workshop with the University of Edinburgh’s International Relations Society on Wednesday 8th February. Contact euir.forum@gmail.com for booking details.
